Angeregt von empirischen Beobachtungen diskutiert er in der Hauptsache theoretisch, inwieweit Soziale Innovationen vermittels voraussetzungsreicher Prozesse der Etikettierung überhaupt erst als solche sichtbar werden und welche Rolle dabei Problemkonstruktionen spielen, die im Zuge der Etablierung der sozial-ökologischen Transformation als politisches und wissenschaftliches Handlungsfeld neu aufgeworfen werden. | ||

Building on this diagnosis, this paper connects the debate on social innovations with that on social problems. It employs a problem-sociological perspective as a heuristic to explicate and highlight the social construction processes associated with social innovations. Inspired by empirical observations, the paper primarily discusses theoretically to what extent social innovations become visible as such through complex labeling processes and what role problem constructions play in this context.
