Zusammenfassung:This chapter provides a conceptual framework - through a series of questions - for thinking about, guiding, and evaluating criminal justice policy on homicide. We discuss theory and research relevant for identifying what is, and is not, known about policy efforts to prevent or respond to homicide and its sequelae. Although significant advances in research exist, much remains unknown about homicide and the effect of homicide-focused policies. The silver lining is that this situation creates opportunities to advance research and policy alike.
