| Sumario: | This chapter deals with the professional work of the sociolegal social worker in the context of the Chilean criminal justice system. It is carried out through an investigation to social workers who work in different units of the public criminal defender, contrasting the above with a bibliographic review of the main topics of interest for the area and the work that is developed there, emphasizing the social contexts of intervention and the professional challenges of those who work in this field of professional development. En el presente capítulo se aborda el quehacer profesional del trabajador social socio-jurídico en el contexto del sistema de justicia penal chilena, realizado mediante una investigación orientada a trabajadores sociales que se desempeñan en distintas unidades de la defensoría penal pública, contrastando lo anterior con una revisión bibliográfica de los principales temas de interés para el área y la labor que ahí se desarrolla, poniendo énfasis en los contextos sociales de intervención y en los desafíos profesionales de quienes trabajan en este ámbito de desarrollo profesional. |
