En el presente capítulo se aborda el quehacer profesional del trabajador social socio-jurídico en el contexto del sistema de justicia penal chilena, realizado mediante una investigación orientada a trabajadores sociales que se desempeñan en distintas unidades de la defensoría penal pública, contrastando lo anterior con una revisión bibliográfica de los principales temas de interés para el área y la labor que ahí se desarrolla, poniendo énfasis en los contextos sociales de intervención y en los desafíos profesionales de quienes trabajan en este ámbito de desarrollo profesional. |
