La demanda de este árido, por parte de las constructoras y de diferentes sectores de la industria, es superior a la que se puede obtener de forma sostenible. La arena no es un recurso infinito. Dicha circunstancia ha provocado la aparición de un mercado negro de este tipo de mineral.
