Sumario:This chapter provides an in‐depth exploration of the global structure of community corrections, highlighting the diversity in the organization and delivery of probation and parole services across different jurisdictions. It discusses the variety of community corrections components, such as pretrial supervision, probation, parole, and electronic monitoring, and how these are implemented differently in various countries. This chapter also delves into the mission and vision of community correction organizations, emphasizing their roles in rehabilitation, public protection, and offering alternatives to custody. Furthermore, it examines the typologies of probation services and their organization, ranging from combined prison and probation services to independent NGOs and county‐level organizations. Finally, the chapter reflects on the impact of organizational structures on the effectiveness of community corrections, suggesting that more research is needed to understand which models best serve public interest and supervision outcomes.
