The data were extracted through a social work intervention strategy developed in two phases: the first, in 2018, with women deprived of their liberty at the Centro Femenil de Reinserción Social (CEFERESO), and the second, in 2019, with incarcerated women who have a disability. By using this strategy, I identify that the punishment that is used on women functions as a process to impose feminine and less rehabilitative ideals on them, so that they can return to society attached to gender-specific norms. Drawing from the chivalry hypothesis, this examination presents a better understanding of how women with disabilities may be disproportionately punished because of their gender and disability status. | ||
| 520 | |a El capítulo presenta un análisis desde la perspectiva de género sobre las experiencias de las mujeres con discapacidad en el Sistema de Justicia Penal en México. Los datos fueron extraídos a través de una estrategia de intervención de trabajo social desarrollada en dos fases: la primera, en el 2018, con mujeres privadas de la libertad en el Centro Femenil de Reinserción Social (CEFERESO). La segunda, en el 2019, con mujeres encarceladas que tienen una discapacidad. A partir de esta estrategia, se identificó que el castigo que se despliega hacia las mujeres funciona como un proceso para imponerles ideales femeninos y no así de rehabilitación. La finalidad es que regresen a la sociedad apegadas a las normas propias del género. A partir de la Hipótesis de la Caballerosidad, esta examinación presenta una mejor comprensión de cómo las mujeres con discapacidad pueden ser castigadas de forma desproporcionada debido a su condición de género y discapacidad. | ||
