| Summary: | We explored victims’ and young offenders’ experiences of attending mediation and their perceived (dis)satisfaction with the mediation process, with the goal of understanding in more detail why previous research reports participants’ high levels of satisfaction with mediation. We combined multiple case study design with reflexive thematic analysis. Consistent with previous research, our participants consistently reported satisfaction with mediation. Through reflecting upon and engaging with participants’ shared experiences, we generated two themes: Simple Satisfaction and Transformative Healing Through Relationships. We discuss these two themes, relevant subthemes and exemplar quotes, and implications of our work, as well as offer potential future avenues of research. |
