| Sumario: | En este texto se analizan los logros para las víctimas del movimiento de la justicia restaurativa. En este sentido, tras definirla, se plantean dos cuestiones: ¿puede la justicia restaurativa ser terapéutica? y ¿ofrece la justicia restaurativa la oportunidad de reconciliarse? En estas dos preguntas se reflejan dos de las asunciones dominantes que el movimiento de la justicia restaurativa realiza en nombre de las víctimas y que tienen que ver con la noción de víctima ideal. Se concluye que la justicia restaurativa necesita a la víctima más que la víctima necesita a la justicia restaurativa. This paper considers what can be achieved for the victim by the efforts of the restorative justice movement. Its central focus of concern is the problems and possibilities for the victim inherent in restorative justice and, after considering its definition, it asks two questions. Can restorative justice be therapeutic? Does restorative justice offer the opportunity for reconciliation? These questions reflect two of the domain assumptions the restorative justice movement makes on behalf of the ideal victim. This paper concludes by suggesting restorative justice initiatives need the ‘victim’ more than the victim needs restorative justice. |
