Description
Summary:Over the past 10 years the U.S. has experienced a sharp increase in the number of foreclosures. The problem has been particularly severe in a number of states, including Florida. The purpose of this article is to explore the relationship between foreclosure rates and calls for service for domestic disturbances reported to the City of Tampa, Florida Police Department in 2008. The results suggest that even when controlling for a number of socioeconomic variables, the foreclosure rate remained a significant predictor of domestic disturbance calls for service.
