Sumario:Part of a special issue on collective identities, social problems, and movements. The writer discusses national stories of and global possibilities for environmental justice. She considers definitions of the term and compares it to environmental injustice, environmental equity, and environmental racism. She reviews the activities labeled as environmental justice initiatives by nongovernmental organizations, community-based organizations, and/or governments in Canada, Israel, South Africa, and the U.S. She presents global possibilities based on this review.
