Sumario:The article aims to facilitate the cessation of sexual violence against women incarcerated within the U.S. It considers what conditions perpetuate abuse against people incarcerated within women’s prisons, analyzes the nonexistence of a rape crisis center (RCC) for those suffering from sexual abuse, and discusses what can be used to conceptualize sexual abuse and anti-rape work that seriously addresses sexual abuse among prisoners. The author also presents community accountability models, restorative justice processes, and elements of transformative justice as positive alternatives to prison.
