Zusammenfassung:An essay is presented which examines the use and creation of public spaces by antiwar activists, focusing on an antiwar movement in Santa Barbara, California during the start of the Iraq War and social life within activism. It looks at the interaction among groups of people during public demonstrations and discusses spatial and power dynamics. Particular attention is also given to the concepts of "citizens" and "dissenters" and the utilization of public space by these groups.
