Description
Summary:Governance, conceived as the incorporation of new private actors to spaces of discussion and deliberation as well as to the provision of public services, is presented as an innovative form of institutional policy. The phenomenon of immigration has opened the door to the application of multiple experiences of governance in areas such as reception, integration, and labor market participation. The main critics to this model refer to the lack of transparency, democratic deficits or economic pre-eminence in front of the public and social. This article presents a series of reflections on the possibility of establishing mechanisms to provide a social perspective to the new model of public action in the field of immigration.
