Zusammenfassung:Restorative justice is about healing the harm done to victims and communities as a result of criminal acts, while holding offenders accountable for their actions (Zehr 1990; Van Ness and Strong 1997). The lack of rigorous empirical research on restorative justice, however, makes it difficult to know the effects of restorative justice on victims, communities, and offenders. The goal of this article is to examine the current state of research on restorative interventions for juvenile offenders. The article distinguishes what we know from what we need to know and suggests a future restorative justice research agenda.
