Sumario:In diesem Beitrag wird die Frage aufgeworfen, inwieweit der von Garland beschriebene neue Umgang mit den Crimes of Everyday Life (situationsbezogene Kriminalprävention, Responsibilisierung, Community Policing) im Kontext der adaptiven Strategie der "New Culture of Crime Control" auch in Deutschland im Zuge der "präventiven Wende" in der Kriminalpolitik zu beobachten ist. Es wird die These aufgestellt, dass es sich bei den adaptiven Strategien nicht um eine Anpassung an die Lebensbedingungen in der "Culture of High Crime Societies" handelt, sondern um eine neue neoliberale Sicherheitsphilosophie und dass die Bedingungen für deren Durchsetzung aus benennbaren Gründen in England und den USA günstiger sind bzw. waren als in Deutschland.
In this article, the question is raised whether the adaptive strategies (Garland) of dealing with the crimes of everyday life (situational crime prevention, responsibilization, community policing) in the new culture of crime control can also be found in Germany in light of the preventive turn of crime policy there. lt is being stated !hat the adaptive strategies have not lead to an adjustment to the conditions of life in the culture of high crime societies, but rather represent a new neoliberal philosophy of safety. Furthermore, we argue that the conditions for implementing this safety philosophy are more favorable both in England and the U.S. than in Germany.
