AB Der Artikel untersucht am Beispiel Prostitution in Frankfurt a.M., wie sich von der Polizei wahrgenommene Handlungszwänge und -optionen durch Gentrifizierung verändern. Er zeigt, dass Gentrifizierung wesentlich als externer „demand“ (Laura Huey) verarbeitet wird. Doch Polizeihandeln ist zugleich von (v.a. Rationalitäts-)Zuschreibungen bezüglich Kontrollunterworfenen geprägt, und Polizeien gestalten aktiv ihren (rechtlichen) Handlungsrahmen.
AB Using the example of prostitution in Frankfurt a.M. (Germany), the paper analyzes how police perceptions are shaped by gentrification. It shows how gentrification is mostly negotiated as external „demand“ (Laura Huey). Yet police action also regards ascribed attributes (esp. ir/rationality) of the controlled, and police actively shapes its (legal) framework of action.
