This is in being repeated in the context of the ongoing capitalist globalization and the penetration of the modern societies by the state. The capacity to penetrate all aspects of a society nationally and on an international scale by measures of security is made possible by the modern technologies of information and communication. There are enormous social costs. Among them there can be identified: human rights in general; the right of privacy in particular; the due process of law; rules and substance of democratic procedures. But even the security of the powerful will be limited. As social cohesion and trust are declining the preventive calculation of risks does not face any limits. The a-social risk societies and their traumatic search for technological security will devour its own kids. | ||
