AB Ausgehend von Mathiesens Strategie der Negation wird Gefangenenarbeit in Abschiebungshaft am Beispiel Bremens im Hinblick auf ihr abolitionistisches Potential betrachtet. Die Schwierigkeiten, mit einer solchen Tätigkeit keinen Legitimitätsgewinn für die Institution zu schaffen, werden dargestellt. Im Vordergrund steht die Erkenntnis, dass der tatsächliche Einfluss einer solchen Tätigkeit schwer einschätzbar bleibt, wenn gleichzeitig zu dieser negativen Bilanz Tendenzen zur Zurückdrängung von Abschiebungshaft erkennbar werden, deren Ursachen unklar sind.
AB Work with prisoners in the Bremen facilities for custody pending deportation is analyzed using Mathiesen’s strategy of negation as a starting point. The pivotal matter concerns the difficulties or even impossibility to perform such work without legitimizing the institution. At the same time, the downward trend in the numbers of deportation prisoners is difficult to account for.
