Summary:Aggression in the workplace can significantly hinder the organisation's performance.SMEs must identify the factors necessary for managing workplace aggression.This study investigated the impact of psychological contract breach, distributive injustice, and workplace silence on organisational cynicism and workplace aggression. This study utilised a cross-sectional research design. The data was gathered from the employees of small and medium-sized enterprises located in Saudi Arabia. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to develop a questionnaire. This study utilised convenience sampling to collect the data. The response rate of the study was 67.33%. In addition, the data collected was analysed using SPSS. The study's findings indicate that several factors, including psychological contract breach, distributive injustice, and workplace silence, have a notable impact on both organisational cynicism and workplace aggression. In addition, this study found statistical support for the mediating effect of organizational cynicism. The study's findings hold significant implications for decision-makers in the SME sector, highlighting the need to enhance the work environment for employees. Furthermore, researchers can utilise these findings for their future studies.
