Summary:This chapter presents a state-of-the-art introduction on criminal family networks in the Netherlands. It deals with two issues: first, criminal families and intergenerational transmission of delinquent behaviour and criminal leadership, based on an in-depth study of seven families in the south of the Netherlands, and second, evidence- and practice-based approaches of family-oriented interventions, based on interviews with professionals working in the social services and security domain that are involved in intervening in core family dynamics and/or family networks. Recent literature is discussed.
