520 |a In order to meet the multiple needs of justice-involved youth and to support their desistance from crime and social and community (re)integration, several actors from different community and public sectors of intervention may be required. The purpose of this chapter is to describe the perceptions of justice-involved youth, both positive and negative, and the barriers and factors that facilitate the accessibility and continuity of services. For this chapter, 33 participants were selected (justice-involved youth aged 16 to 35). A descriptive thematic analysis of access provides a picture of the referrals obtained and the requests for assistance made by these individuals, while continuity of services is divided into three subthemes. Barriers and facilitators are also identified. Finally, although these individuals used a number of services at different points in their criminal justice trajectory, the relationship with the counsellors and the collaboration between the intervention sectors appear to be factors of success in the access and continuity of services.
