In addition to the advantages provided by digital devices and the internet, some negative aspects associated with the misuse of it have evolved parallelly in the form of cybercrime. The number of individuals that fall prey to such crimes has increased over the years. Cybercrime victimization has been tested over various parameters to investigate what contributes to cybercrime victimization at large. Sharing of devices is once such a practice which is considered unsafe by the experts in terms of cybersecurity which could lead to cybercrime victimization. The investigation involving an approach of contribution of device sharing habits in cybercrime victimization is yet largely unexplored. This study aims to fill the research gap by exploring the differences in cybercrime victimization when it comes to sharing the device(s) with known individuals. Individuals who had been victims of some or other form of cybercrime were classified under three groups who shared their device with either parents, siblings or friends. In total, responses of 150 university students were used for the study. Study explored the difference in cybercrime victimization among the three groups. Significant differences were found in cybercrime victimization when it comes to sharing devices with family (parents & siblings) & friends. Further this study discusses the cybercrime victimization among youth and the various factors associated with it.
