RT Article T1 Research in child and adolescent victimization: incentives, threats, and challenges JF Fieldwork experiences in criminology and security studies SP 223 OP 239 A1 Pereda Beltran, Noemí LA English YR 2023 UL https://krimdok.uni-tuebingen.de/Record/1920031642 AB While child and adolescent victimization is a problem of social concern, both due to its extent and its serious developmental effects, its academic study has not been a focus of victimological interest until very recently. In GReVIA (Research Group in Child Victimization), we study child and adolescent victimization applying the theoretical framework of developmental victimology that aims to facilitate decision-making by researchers and professionals in the field of violence against children and adolescents and to conduct academic studies using a robust instrument that allows victimization experiences to be assessed rigorously. This chapter discusses the ethical and methodological considerations about research applying developmental victimology to child and adolescent victimization and poly-victimization.
