AB Dem in der Literatur dominanten Modell des Wissenstransfers als Globalisierung westlicher Polizeiinstitutionen und westlichen Polizierens wird ein analytisches Modell der Übersetzungsprozesse gegenübergestellt. Dadurch können bisher wenig beachtete Phänomene internationaler Polizeiprojekte in den Fokus der empirischen Analyse gerückt werden. Die Analyse der Transnationalisierung der Polizei und von Polizieren als Übersetzungsprozesse setzt die Annahme voraus, dass es keine Blaupausen von Polizei und Polizieren gibt, die von A nach B übertragen und dadurch globalisiert werden. Vielmehr wird angenommen, dass Wissen in den internationalen Projekten übertragen wird, indem es verändert und angepasst wird. Dadurch kann das ethnozentrische Konzept der Transnationalisierung überwunden und durch eine Analyseperspektive ersetzt werden, die auch nach den Wirkungen der Transnationalisierungsprozesse im globalen Norden fragt.
AB This paper challenges the dominant model in the literature of knowledge transfer as the globalization of Western police institutions and Western policing with an analytical model of translation processes. This allows us to move neglected empirical phenomena of international police projects into the focus of the empirical analysis. Analyzing the transnationalization of the police and of policing as translation processes is based on the assumption that there are no blueprints of police and policing which are being globalized by transmitting them from A to B. Rather, it is assumed that knowledge is transmitted through addaptions. This analytical perspective helps to overcome the ethnocentric concept of transnationalization by including the effects of transnationalization processes in the global North into the research agenda.
