AB Kriminalitätskartierungen werden weitgehend positivistisch und im Dienste bzw. von der Polizei betrieben. Unter Bezug auf die allgemeine Entwicklung von Theorie und Praxis des Kartierens diskutieren wir diese positivistische Variante der Kriminalitätskartierung, die konstruktivistische Kritik an ihr sowie neuere, praxeologische Alternativen, um Bedingungen und Möglichkeiten ihrer Anwendung in der Kritischen Kriminologie auszuloten.
AB The aim of this paper is to discuss possibilities and limitations of crime mapping in critical criminology. Crime mapping is mostly used as a positivistic endeavor in the service of the police. Following the broad development of the theory and practice of mapping, the paper discusses this positivistic version of crime mapping, the constructivist critique directed against it, and praxeological alternatives.
