Sumario:This chapter sets out the rationale and utility of health data sources for understanding the epidemiology of violence, focusing on the benefits and challenges of particular data, but also how these sources can be used to provide effective validation of violence-prevention initiatives. This chapter will conclude with future research directions – particularly around the prediction of violence from multiple sources - and with a brief example of how these data sources have already been used.
