RT Article T1 Introduction: researching gender and violence in Romani and traveller lives - methods, ethics, and dilemmas JF Gender and violence in Romani and Traveller lives SP 1 OP 22 A1 Gay y Blasco, Paloma LA English YR 2025 UL https://krimdok.uni-tuebingen.de/Record/1918489777 AB The Introduction provides a rationale and road map for the volume. It argues that Romani and Traveller marginalisation and oppression should be conceptualised as forms of violence that are inherently gendered. Alongside gendered violences exercised by the state and the dominant majority, it is necessary to scrutinise gendered violences that may be exercised within communities: both are often justified as necessary and pedagogic. The Introduction examines the invisibility of gendered violences and questions the usefulness of dichotomies (such as internal and external, or legitimate and illegitimate) in the study of gendered violence. It argues that researchers must foreground reflexivity when researching gendered violences in Romani and Traveller contexts. NO Literaturverzeichnis: Seite 19-22 SN 9781032629278
