Three areas of particular relevance for children and young people are focused on here: (1) universal violence prevention work with young people at school; (2) legal reforms and social work aiming at counteracting violence in the name of honour; and (3) contact arrangements between children and abusive fathers post separation. The chapter uses Sweden as its case, where the current policies on violence against women, children and young people can, on an overarching level, be described as in a state of ideological struggle between feminism, nationalism and neoliberalism. A key argument, which applies to all manifestations of violence, is that multiple types of inequalities interact and are relevant on several levels. The outcomes of these variations in framing and handling of violence and abuse are contradictory. The chapter picks up these variations and struggles and uses them to inform the discussion on the interrelations of different forms of gendered violence.
