Description
Summary:Africa is renowned for its abundance of natural and human resources. Despite its potential, it is backwards in all ramifications when compared to other continents in the world. Its backwardness is attributed to many factors but most importantly the divides within individual component states and between one or a group of African states and others. These divides have undermined cooperation in sensitive areas of security, economy, politics etc. These divides have sometimes resulted in wars and conflicts which have depleted Africa’s resources and impeded development. This article discussed Africa, identified the legal and institutional framework for integration and cooperation, identified divides and proffered solutions on how law can solve Africa’s problems.
