RT Article T1 A lived experience perspective: enhancing the work of probation through co-production JF Probation, mental health and criminal justice SP 167 OP 178 A1 Emma A1 Jason A1 Mullen, Philip A2 Jason A2 Mullen, Philip LA English YR 2023 UL https://krimdok.uni-tuebingen.de/Record/1914069544 AB Co-production has been increasingly taken forward by researchers, policymakers and organisations to increase the impact and relevancy of their work. In this chapter, we explore from a lived experience perspective the potential that these more collaborative approaches to service delivery, research and strategic decision-making have for enhancing the work of probation and, particularly, the support provided to people under probation supervision who face mental ill health. We also set out our vision for the Probation Service, and the Criminal Justice System as a whole, to better meet people’s needs and in turn address repeated cycles of crisis and crime.
