In The Corruption Dilemma: Controlling the Power of the Powerful by Stephen D. Morris, these thoughts are brilliantly explored through a presentation of the numerous challenges and dilemmas that prevent simple solutions to corruption. Politics, capitalism and democracy, anticorruption, definitions, and individualized factors are analyzed through the lens of corruption and Morris tactfully explores the entanglement of each challenge with the existence of corruption. Ultimately, Morris argues for a deeper understanding of the dilemmas that encompass true control over corruption to strengthen democratic rule and curb harmful forms of corruption in society. This book explores these challenges and begs for this framework to be utilized in numerous additional contexts, outside of Mexico and the United States, to which the book focuses. |
