Respondents were asked if they believed the charges against Manes, whether or not they thought that he should resign, how they thought Cuomo and Koch should handle the situation, and if they believed that corruption is typical in most New York City departments. They were also asked if Koch should be held responsible, if they perceived more or less corruption under Koch, and if they thought that Koch was an honest politician. In addition, respondents were questioned about whether or not they supported a gay rights bill for the city and whether religious groups should oppose or promote the bill.
