The question of interest, then, becomes how do the two established correlates of crime, age and gender, relate to this unique form of offending, white-collar crime? Will similar patterns emerge, or will they differ substantially due to the different nature of offending? This chapter reviews research on gender and age patterns in white-collar offending. It also reports trends in arrests for white-collar crimes across gender, using data from the Uniform Crime Reports. The chapter concludes with a discussion of remaining gaps in our knowledge regarding differential patterns in white-collar offending across age and gender.
