Description
Summary:This chapter aims to analyze the crime of human trafficking, considering both the phenomenon on a global scale as well as the situation in Brazil. Therefore, the chapter discusses the legal evolution of this crime in the history of Brazil, from the Brazil Empire to the insertion of the country into the globalized world. Specifically, this chapter analyzes the controversy involving the new legal definition of the crime of human trafficking, which was brought by Law No. 13.344/2016, whose meaning is different from that previously existing. The text also aims to verify whether, with the enactment of the new Article 149-A, there was abolitio criminis of facts that were considered criminal based on the prior legislation.
