AB Im Sommer 2023 brach in Frankreich eine Welle stadtischer Revolten aus, wie sie das Land noch nie erlebt hatte: Ein halbes Tausend Städte waren betroffen, mehr als 10.000 Fahrzeuge wurden in Brand gesetzt, sowie nahezu 300 Gebäude der Polizei oder Gendarmarie und mehr als 100 Rathäuser. Der Artikel geht auf die unmittelbaren Ursachen dieser Explosion ein und analysiert mit einem vergleichenden Blick auf die Aufstände von 2005 die möglichen Auswirkungen dieser Unruhen auf die Beziehungen zwischen der Politik und der unterprevilegierten Jugend einerseits und zwischen der Politik und der Polizei andererseits in einem Kontext, in dem ein tödlicher Polizeischuss zwar der Auslöser der Unruhen war, die Polizei aber gegen jegliche Kritik seitens der Regierungsverantwortlichen immun geblieben ist.
AB In the summer of 2023, France experienced a wave of urban revolts the likes of which the country had never seen before: half a thousand cities were affected, more than 10,000 vehicles were set on fire, as well as nearly 300 police or gendarmarie buildings and more than 100 town halls. The article looks at the immediate causes of this explosion and, with a comparative look at the 2005 uprisings, analyses the possible impact of these riots on relations between politics and the underprivileged youth on the one hand and between politics and the police on the other, in a context in which a fatal police shooting was the trigger for the riots but the police remained immune to any criticism from those responsible for the government.
