520 |a The convict criminology and prisoner re-entry movements are at a seminal moment in their development. This moment shares many characteristics with the feminist movements of the 1970s and 1980s. In the interest of not repeating the missteps of the past, the author believes that is important to draw from the lessons of the earlier feminist movement. For the prisoner re-entry movement, the experience of the rape crisis centers and domestic violence shelters in becoming aligned with the state is of particular importance. Convict criminology can benefit from the lessons of intersection theory and begin to draw on the diversity that exists within the community of formerly incarcerated individuals.
