En general, esta violencia ha sido normalizada y naturalizada, considerándose como una manifestación del despliegue natural de los instintos masculinos de los hombres sobre los cuerpos de mujeres. Incluso ha sido asumida como un componente inherente de estos conflictos, como si se tratase de un destino natural inevitable, una consecuencia imposible de frenar en determinados procesos. Esta perspectiva ha sido arraigada en el "sentido común" de la sociedad. Ante este escenario, Jocelyn Maldonado se ha propuesto desafiar tal naturalización y desentrañar la complejidad de este fenómeno. Es así como, a través de un análisis de la historia reciente de occidente respecto de los conflictos bélicos modernos, introduce el concepto de violencia política sexual, para luego aplicarlo al contexto de la dictadura civil-militar en Chile en el marco del Terrorismo de Estado y la emergencia del neoliberalismo. Teniendo en cuenta, claro está, de que este modelo económico-político-cultural no es fruto del desarrollo orgánico de las fuerzas sociales, sino que ha sido impuesto a partir de técnicas y tecnologías del terror. However, it has lacked problematization, critical analysis and deep reflection that recognizes its historicity. In general, this violence has been normalized and naturalized, considered as a manifestation of the natural display of men's masculine instincts on women's bodies. It has even been assumed as an inherent component of these conflicts, as if it were an inevitable natural destiny, a consequence that is impossible to stop in certain processes. This perspective has been ingrained in the "common sense" of society. Given this scenario, Jocelyn Maldonado has set out to challenge such naturalization and unravel the complexity of this phenomenon. This is how, through an analysis of the recent history of the West regarding modern war conflicts, it introduces the concept of sexual political violence, and then applies it to the context of the civil-military dictatorship in Chile within the framework of State Terrorism. and the emergence of neoliberalism.
