Zusammenfassung:The chapter gives an introduction to a praxeological methodology for court ethnographies. The trans-sequential analysis is an object-centred approach that treats the focal objects-such as statements or cases-as becomings, not beings. After introducing basic concepts of the approach, the chapter names a series of basic analytical steps to take plus the results that come into reach by this research procedure. The trans-sequential analysis leads to an understanding of the limited capacities of the court under study, each taken as localised case-producing work unit or apparatus. The introduction ends with an outlook on how to connect the ethnographic micro-foundation to the overwhelming existential challenges of our times.
