Sumario:(i) To illuminate the difficulties and strains involved and the accommodations made when women embark on careers in a male-dominated profession. (ii) To identify the factors which enable women to perform the professional role successfully in a male-dominated profession. (iii) To identify the specialities in which women barristers and solicitors work, together with other features of their professional practice; also to ascertain the extent to which the practice of women lawyers differs from that of men. (iv) To suggest ways in which female participation may be facilitated in other male-dominated professions.
