AB Dieser Beitrag beleuchtet die Konzepte Scham und „Mitschuld“ im Kontext einer Opferwerdung durch Sexualdelikte. Obwohl diese Begriffe oft nahezu automatisch mit dem Erleben sexueller Gewalt in Verbindung gebracht werden, sind ihre Hintergründe sowie Auswirkungen auf die Kommunikation mit den Opfern bislang nur wenig beforscht. Daher wird auf Basis qualitativer Interviews mit Polizistinnen und Polizisten deren Wahrnehmung hinsichtlich der Schambelastung der Opfer von Sexualdelikten analysiert. Die Ergebnisse werden einer soziologischen Sichtweise des Schambegriffes gegenübergestellt und dadurch eingeordnet. Sodann werden potenzielle gesellschaftliche Hintergründe der Schamempfindungen von Opfern erörtert und Implikationen für die polizeiliche Praxis aufgezeigt.
AB This article deals with the concepts of shame and ‘guilt’ in the context of victimizations through sexual assault. Although these terms are almost automatically associated with experiences of sexual violence, their backgrounds and impact on communication with victims have only rarely been the subject of research. The paper thus analyses police officers’ perceptions concerning feelings of shame experienced by sexual assault victims based on qualitative interviews. The results are considered alongside a socio-logical perspective on the concept of shame and thus examined in detail. The article then discusses how social background might contribute to victims’ feelings of shame and considers implications for police investigations.
