AB Using prior research, I aim to address how intimate partner violence affects the LGBTQ communities and relationships. I also aim to identify barriers and what can be done to provide a better source of support. Using data collected from a survey administered at a large southeast university located in a rural area in 2014 with a sample size of 786 students, I examine sexual orientation, gender identity demographics, psychological concerns, prior victimization, alcohol, and drug use and compare LGBTQ to heterosexual respondents
