|a El perfil de los menores infractores ha evolucionado de forma paralela al cambio social. Esta nueva realidad, caracterizada por el aumento del número de menores con problemas con la ley, exige una nueva relectura del perfil del menor, de sus características y de los factores de riesgo y/o protección para poder plantear una intervención exitosa con éste colectivo. Dentro del conjunto de medidas destinadas a lograr el cambio de conducta de estos menores, es necesario destacar el papel que desempeñan los profesionales del trabajo social en todo el proceso sancionador. Por tanto, este trabajo pretende analizar las funciones del trabajador social en relación a los menores infractores, las herramientas más importantes que utiliza dicho profesional, y definir la mediación como una vía más eficaz y eficiente a la hora de trabajar con éste sector de la población.The profile of juvenile offenders has evolved in parallel to social change. This new reality, characterized by the increase in the number of minors with problems with the law, requires a new re-reading of the minor's profile, its characteristics and the risk and / or protection factors in order to raise a successful intervention with this group. Within the set of measures aimed at achieving the behavior change of these minors, it is necessary to analyze the role played by social work professionals throughout the sanctioning process. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the functions of the social worker in relation to juvenile offenders, the most important tools used by that professional, and define mediation as a more effective and efficient way to work with this group.Grado en Trabajo Socia
