Summary:Peru is a country with high sexual victimization: an average rate of 40 complaints of rape per 100,000 women in the fi rst decade of the century (one of the highest in Latin America). What are the characteristics of rape victimization in this context? This article has two objectives, i) describe the pattern of previous sexual violence to a reported violation, and ii) determine the period of the beginning of the history of victimization (in the history of life of the victims). For this we have studied a sample of 128 cases of rape of women in Peru, which occurred when the victims were between 16 and 17 years. Through a reconstruction method trajectories, this article shows evidence of a large number of cases of multiple sexual victimization, and sequences of acts of sexual violence that become more intense at the beginning of adolescence and decreases at the end of that period.
Con una tasa promedio de 40 denuncias de violación por cada 100,000 mujeres en la primera década del siglo XXI, el Perú es uno de los países con datos de prevalencia y porcentaje de victimización sexual más altos de América Latina. ¿Cuáles son las características de la victimización por violación en ese contexto? Este artículo tiene dos objetivos, i) escribir el patrón de violencia sexual precedente a una violación denunciada, y ii) determinar el periodo de inicio de la trayectoria de victimización. Para ello se ha estudiado una muestra de 128 casos de violación a mujeres en el Perú, que ocurrieron cuando las víctimas tenían entre 16 y 17 años; y a través de un método de reconstrucción de trayectorias, este artículo muestra la evidencia de una gran cantidad de casos de victimización sexual múltiple, y la aparición de secuencias de hechos de violencia sexual que describen una campana de intensidad que inicia y crece con la adolescencia y que disminuye al final de ese periodo.
