This article aims to present the judicial treatment of this crime at the end of the Middle Ages in Dijon, using the rich archives left by lay magistrates (aldermen), which contain a diverse range of cases rarely found at the level of urban justice. It demonstrates that parishes followed a standardized inquisitorial process but adapted it according to the nature of the case in order to obtain appropriate evidence and reach a verdict. The level of detail provided by these criminal investigations and trials also sheds light on the behaviours of the parents involved, which are indicative of the social norms of the period. 
520 |a Le crime d’infanticide demeure peu étudié pour la période médiévale, et il est le plus souvent analysé à partir des lettres de rémission, qu’elles soient royales ou princières. Le but de cet article est de présenter le traitement judiciaire de ce crime à la fin du Moyen Âge à Dijon, à partir des riches fonds d’archives de la justice échevinale, qui offrent une diversité de cas que l’on trouve rarement à l’échelle d’une justice urbaine. Il s’agit de montrer que la commune suit une procédure inquisitoire normée, qu’elle adapte en fonction de la nature du cas afin d’obtenir les preuves appropriées et rendre son jugement. La densité des informations fournies par les enquêtes et procès criminels permet également de s’intéresser aux comportements des parents impliqués, qui reflètent les normes sociales du temps.
