| Sumario: | This article exposes the state of the art in relation to forensic criminology. Addressing two basic issues: on the one hand, the concept of it starting from definitions from other countries, to those that have been elaborated in Mexico and on the other, the possible applications that this science can have particularly in the criminal justice system, from criminal profiling, violence risk assessment and linkage analysis, up to the psychological autopsy and victim risk or exposure assessment. El presente artículo expone el estado del arte en relación a la criminología forense, abordando dos cuestiones básicas: por un lado, el concepto de la misma, partiendo de definiciones provenientes de otros países hasta aquellas que han sido elaboradas en México; y, por el otro, las posibles aplicaciones que esta ciencia puede tener, particularmente en el sistema de justicia penal, desde la perfilación criminal, la valoración del riesgo de violencia y el análisis de vinculación de casos, hasta la autopsia psicológica y la valoración del riesgo o exposición victimal. |
