Summary:The issue of serial killers is difficult to analyze. Attempts have been made to study their behaviors and modus operandi from various perspectives (psychological, sociological, biological, criminalistic, police and even mathematical). In this work we recall some relevant studies on geographic profiles that try to locate these murderers based on the data of their crimes and we provide a new study of these profiles using Thiessen polygons.
El tema de los asesinos en serie es complicado de analizar. Se ha intentado el estudio de sus conductas y «modus operandi» desde varias perspectivas (psicológicas, sociológicas, biológicas, criminalísticas, policiales e incluso matemáticas). En este trabajo recordamos algunos estudios relevantes sobre perfiles geográficos que intentan localizar a estos asesinos a partir de los datos de sus crímenes y aportamos un nuevo estudio de estos perfiles utilizando polígonos de Thiessen.
