Zusammenfassung:This article assesses various factors contributing to fluctuating rates of female crime in Russia between 1991 and present. The author uses existing data and modern scientific literature regarding female crime in Russia as a framework for the study. The goal of this article, based on empirical research, is to show trends and tendencies of female crime specifically. The study was done in March 2013 in the Russian penal colony of Vladivostok. A total of 212 women aged between 18 and 64 years were interviewed. Ultimately, the study’s findings will inform trends in female crime, and will contribute to the continued development of more effective crime prevention programmes in Russia.
