RT Article T1 El matrimonio forzado en España: Una aproximación empírica JF Revista Española de Investigación Criminológica VO 17 SP 1 OP 32 A1 Villacampa Estiarte, Carolina A2 Torres Rosell, Núria LA Spanish YR 2019 UL https://krimdok.uni-tuebingen.de/Record/1747956120 AB Forced marriage has gone from being perceived as an exclusive practice in distant places or remote times to being incorporated into the political debate on what is tolerable in today's globalized society. However, this debate and its consequences in criminal law are taking place without sufficient scientific knowledge of this reality and of the need to define it in relation to other related practices such as arranged marriage. This paper presents the results of an empirical study in which 150 assistance entities have participated reporting their knowledge of the victims of forced marriage and the dynamics of the commission of this phenomenon in Spain. The results allow us to state the existence of persons who have been forced to marry against their will, some of them legally resident in Spain and even nationals, using means to constrain their will.
