Its roots are investigated in great civilizations and its roots in novohispana society until this tradition, usually underground, surfaced in some communities of the northern sector of Monterrey, Cienega de Flores, as well as in the Old Town of San Nicolas de los Garza that make up the universe of study. Methodologicalally, documentary research was conducted in local archives and combined with fieldwork seeking ethnographic interpretation. The author concludes that cockfights are inscribed in forms of subaltern culture that first settle on the peripheries, on the margins of the city, to travel towards the strictly urban. From the underworld of underground mechanisms of socialization are being established between the Galleria and their audiences, between the solusers and the punters, profiling a culture that survives to this day in certain areas of the metropolitan area of Monterrey. | ||
| 520 | |a Desde un enfoque cualitativo, el ensayo constituye una investigación histórica sobre el origen y significado de las peleas de gallos en Monterrey durante el siglo XX. Se indaga sus raíces en grandes civilizaciones y su arraigo en la sociedad novohispana hasta que esta tradición, generalmente soterrada afloró en algunas comunidades del sector norponiente de Monterrey, Ciénega de Flores, así como en el Casco antiguo de San Nicolás de los Garza que constituyen el universo del estudio. Metodológicamente, se realizó investigación documental en archivos locales y combinó con trabajo de campo buscando interpretación etnográfica. El autor concluye que las peleas de gallos se inscriben en formas de cultura subalterna que se asientan primero en las periferias, en los márgenes de la ciudad, para transitar hacia lo estrictamente urbano. Desde el submundo de la clandestinidad se van configurando mecanismos de socialización entre los galleros y sus audiencias, entre los soltadores y los apostadores, perfilando una cultura que sobrevive hasta hoy en determinadas zonas del área metropolitana de Monterrey. | ||
